IDEA Co-Creation Workshop: From Needs to Creative Solutions

On 19–20 May, Torino became a hub of creativity and innovation as Hackability hosted an inspiring co-design workshop. Educators and people with disabilities from partner countries came together to test, review, and refine prototypes developed during the pilot phase of IDEA project.

The event showcased remarkable ideas brought to life through digital tools such as 3D printing and laser scanning. Each prototype told a story, one that began with identifying real needs, evolved through creative thinking, and culminated in practical, tangible solutions.

Participants presented a wide range of prototypes, designed collaboratively by people with different types of disabilities and their educators. Every solution reflected a user-centered approach, proving how inclusive design can lead to meaningful impact. The workshop wasn’t just about presenting ideas, it was about making them better. Attendees tested each prototype in depth, sharing valuable feedback to refine and improve functionality, usability, and design.

💡 The goal?To enhance quality of life, strengthen digital skills, and boost employability for people with disabilities.

The journey doesn’t end here: improved versions of these innovative solutions will be featured in a dedicated catalogue, paving the way for their introduction to the market. This event was a powerful reminder that when creativity meets collaboration, real change happens.
